quote:Clue me in? What is your experience with these investigations?
You people are just completely clueless how investigations work.
quote:Why do you think this about me? I’ve been nothing but complimentary about Bama’s basketball season and Miller’s ability and performance this season up until about a week ago.
And if they had issued the exact statement you just typed out, you'd still find something to bitch about.

The state usually doesn't just announce all their info before the trial.

See the deflection folks. It's astounding.

quote:Ok. Are you saying the statement that I suggested would offer an explanation of why Miller wasn’t charged is releasing all of their info or any info that would be damaging to their case?

They have to provide their evidence to the defense. There is no trial by surprise, especially in criminal cases.
Providing information about why someone is just a witness and not a defendant seems in bounds to me.

He made a terrible decision
See...this is where we disagree. According to the police, he did not make a terrible decision. In an incident like the one that occurred in January, if he had indeed made a terrible decision he would have been charged with a crime due to the fact that a human being was murdered. According to the police, he was not involved and is considered a witness. You are essentially arguing for him to sit the rest of the season for witnessing a criminal act.

quote:No kidding. The point is, that providing an explanation regarding the decision not to prosecute Miller would be highly unlikely to harm their case against the other defendants.

Why do you think the police owe us an explanation? Because of our curiosity? Even if they were to release a point-by-point statement today, with video and forensic evidence, it still would not be good enough for the vast majority of Miller's detractors.
Everything will come out at trial.

Maybe, maybe not. They're erring on the side of caution. And as much as ya'll want this to be some huge deal, it's really not in the grand scheme of things.

I don't know about you, but when the guy who wouldn't lose sleep over our basketball program being shut down is against you, I'd start asking questions.

quote:First, I didn’t say they owed it. Second, the elected, politician DA probably does owe an explanation of the decision not to prosecute.
Why do you think the police owe us an explanation?

First time following an investigation, huh? You seem to think those things matter to police.

"The court, having heard the evidence in a preliminary hearing, finds sufficient evidence was presented to establish probable cause that the offense charged was committed by the Defendant," Jannik wrote in Miles' ruling. "The matter is bound over to the Grand Jury."
At least you are consistent in not having a clue what you're talking about.
