stingtalk is the only techie board I've visited, and as is the case with most of their fanbase they are completely obssessed with Georgia on there. I tried to make a name and post (and I'm being dead serious, I wasn't going to flame, I was going to ask them a question about their upcoming team) and the admin wouldn't allow me posting priveledges, I believe because I had a georgia related password. They already wouldn't allow any screen names that had dawg in it.

Those people are just a different breed.

dawgrant allows techies to come. the ones there aren't too terrible.

and tech is obsessed with UGA sports and would root for their own team to lose in order to hurt georgia athletics. its a sad existence, being a gnat

Their obssession with us is disgusting. I wholeheartedly believe it's on the same level as bama/auburn hate, it's just not as widespread or wellknown and nobody cares about tech anyway.

exactly. truth be told little brother syndrome is personified best by the trade school but they are so damn pathetic no one wastes their time with their incompetence. being a tech fan is a rough existence where you basically conceded the fact you're team will ever win and instead you focus all of your being on acting like a bitter little child and bitching at UGA fans whether they are light years ahead of tech on the gridiron or at a more human distance like now. to add on they are always gettin their asses kicked in downtown atlanta and losing their admissions money for dragon con, the one cute girl tech has has a bf, star trek doesn't come on for a few more hours, and its sunday so you can't go buy your favorite wine cooler/zima. but its all good because they always have that education to fall on.

Georgia fans from a reasonable GT fan perspective:

Arrogant as hell, maybe they have a right to be. Their football program is better than ours and pretty much always will be. And it's only going to become more true with the ACC brand freefalling and SEC brand becoming what every star athlete wants.

Throw in that the idea of going to an engineering school, even with other majors (such as business, which I was), and it really takes some major convincing to get the guys to come play.

Problem with the UGA fan base is that they are completely swamped with sidewalk fans. Growing up in metro Atlanta will make you very cynical towards the UGA fanbase if you aren't a part of it. Pretty much everyone from my high school that didn't get into a decent school just goes to those shitty campuses in Athens to leach off the university.

I grew up hating UGA just because all the douchiness I saw first hand. I thought it was cool when Tech would beat Georgia, but that's about the extent of my Tech fanhood until I went there. I chose between UGA, Tech and Emory.

But I fell in love with Tech being there, and I can honestly say that if you're a cool dude, you would have a good time at Tech. There are plenty of cool and attractive girls at Tech, especially in the sororities. ZTA, ADPi, Phi Mu above the others. The girl to guy ratio is misleading, because a lot of those poor nerds take themselves out of the running by playing video games in their apartments.

I cringe seeing GT fans obsessing over Georgia. As a life-long Auburn fan and only recently being associated with GT, I don't have the same insecurity towards Georgia.

You all at least have to admit that it's tougher being a GT fan, and maybe can respect it a little bit.

Screw Tech and its elitst bastards. That ship sailed in the early 80's with Bobby Cremins and the decison to 'Georgetown' their basketball program with some of the bums he started bringing in.

No doubt. People are always telling stories about "this guy in my office" who is always raising hell about Georgia, but can't even name 4 players, has never been to a game, and is nowhere to be seen when they lose. I'm sure every school in the country has fairweather, bandwagon fans, but living my whole life in Georgia I just saw it with our fanbase more than others.

I'll never deny that there are nerds at Tech.

But the biggest nerds are not the ones you're talking to on football message boards.

Family's from Alabama and Columbus, everyone on my mom's side went to Auburn. Dad was an Air Force brat that landed at Mizzou so those ties weren't as strong.

I was just raised that way. I'll never be douchey about it and pretend I'm an Auburn graduate. Hell, I admit it openly to everyone here.

I get shite all the time from my friends for being a bastard. C'est la vie.

Oh, and America. frick yeah.

If I went to tech (geez I felt dirty just typing that), I would be proud of the degree but diassociate myself with any and all other aspects of the school as fast as I possibly could.

wow,coming from you.

But,still,I've worked with plenty of those brilliant graduates of 'The Institute' when I worked for a natural gas pipeline corporation for 16 yrs that had bunches of Tech grads. Not saying Georgia Tech isn't a fine school, but not everyone who graduates is necessarily 'brilliant' nor wealthy.

I'm sure that DeVry degree has served you well, though.
