Only time I've paid a cover is when they have live music going on. Sometimes not even then.

My personal favorite is Willhagen's. Know the bartenders, lots of good beer, really laid back, though it is more of a pub type.

Houndstooth is pretty good

The Gray Lady or Catch 22 probably have the best mixed drinks of anywhere in Tuscaloosa.

Really it comes down to what you enjoy out of a bar. If you're going with the sole intention of picking up a drunk co-ed Galette's, 4th and 23rd, and Innisfree are pretty safe bets. We do have a rooftop bar, the bear trap, but I haven't been there to give an opinion, seems alright though

Southern Tide is solid but I see a lot of try too hards wearing it. I'm big on Perlis. I wear BB occasionally as well. I always stick to Polo on shorts, though. Andrew shorts =

Any bar list at LSU without Bogies or Freds on it isn't complete. Freds on the Friday before games is great too. Hard to beat $10 cover free top shelf liquor 8-10 on a Friday before the game.

Bogies or Fred's. Used to include Dublins on that list but unfortunately, no longer.

Which bar in Auburn has/had the trough to piss in? I think it is next to some frat bar.

Salty Nut, since the fire it has been Jake's. If you want some company for the evening/morning then I recommend Pavlov's between the hours of 2-4.

Hearing the Nut should re-open late July early August, so in time for football season.

I'll second Publick House in this thread my favorite place to eat in Cola, a cool place to drink and the best wings I've ever had. (Though service always sucks)

LSU has the best bar specials probably in the country.

Tonight I will be attending Bogies for penny pitches (of alcohol) from 8-10 before going to JL's for $1 wine all night...

Every bar in Tigerland has a night (at least) where they do free drinks from 8-10. The House (old Tigerbar) does it pretty much every nihgt from 7-10 and free cover if you come before 8 so it's literally free.

I apparently need to make friends in BR, to further my support my alcohol habit

I like Southern Tide but it's just as expensive as VV from my experience so I usually just go with that. I get all my shorts/khakis from the BB outlet in Houston when they have the sales
