i was going to say population plays a big roll. I dont feel like looking up the stats but id imagine south la has the bigger population by a nice edge considering it is new orleans, br,laffy and lake chuck area.

more population more talent and distributed bt the schools.

north la in general to me as always seemed very spread out as far as population and so talent concentrates at a few schools like west monroe, byrd, bastrop and others like them.

Football along I20 is very popular. In cenla they seem to care more about women's basketball than football.

Think about it. OP Walker alone from NOLA had 11 or 12 kids sign D1 schollys this year. You add Rummel, Shaw, and all of the other private schools. If you take those kids and move them to Pineville,LA where they would all play for the same HS, they would probably be unbeatable.

A lot of their recent success was due to Katrina evacuees fronm Plaquemines Parish.

CENLA is a breeding ground for baseball talent. Baseball is very popular there.

Eta: TopHog, I was in grad school at Northwestern but working with Tioga High School, right outside of Alexandria.

clearly swamp people is the best southern show.

i always assumed bayou billionaires would actually be in south la somewhere southwest of laffy.

This seems to be a very prevalent attitude in south la. They look at north La as backward.

I like all of North LA except for Shreveport. They are Yankees, IMO.

yea its pretty much how most of south la views north la outside of s-port.

imo the shittiest part of the state is the far north east corner that has east carrol and lake providence.

The hurricane did give them all that talent for those back to back titles, but they were pretty good before then. I remember before mackey they had marshay green who went on to play for ole miss. He was untouchable.

But in general, do you think the people of south la think north la is inferior? Not you personal, but generally speaking it seems the people in south la look at north la as either an extension of Arkansas or Mississippi.

Bastrop has always been good. Evangel was always good until they made them start playing in their class. They lost their recruiting ability. West Monroe has always been good. My HS team played there in the playoffs and my kids could not get over the game attendance and that the Chick Fil A cow was there.

Not so much inferior as different. It's hard to explain. They just don't seem as nice as us. That's the best way I know how to put it.
