OM fellers,
This is my first trip to Oxford. My work takes me all over this great land and I had the opportunity to take a night in your town.
Admittedly, it’s very short but I have to say I am impressed. I stayed about a mile and a half or so from the campus and before heading to bed I had a quick dinner at landshark seafood. That was the best catfish I’ve ever had. Not sure if it’s highly rated but I enjoyed it a lot.
This morning I’m up early and drove through campus some, parked at the stadium and walked to the grove.
The stadium is not what I would consider outstanding but very few are impressive from the outside.
While the grove is just a grove with no one in it, it was beautiful and great that they kept the green space.
I can see it packed with people “tailgating” and listening to a band. Looks fun. Ok LSU, here’s your chance for a chicken finger joke.
Walked around downtown and went into the graduate but Cabin 82 doesn’t make breakfast gravy any longer. Left there disappointed and now waiting for food at Big Bad Breakfast. Then I’m on my way to Birmingham and then Auburn for a quick pit stop and on to Florida for work.
Oxford is a lovely town and I could see myself living here.
What’s up with the big pig “art” in front of that small White House between campus and downtown? Is that significant or just someone’s idea of decoration?
Lastly, if the guy in the white and blue 80s Jeep Renegade ever messes up and leaves the keys in it…I’m stealing it. Nice Jeep.
Hotty Toddy
