Some tips that they DON'T tell you when they are fellating the "grove".

1. Though football games have been played in Oxford for over a century, Oxford's Finest have still not figured out how to get cars from the highway outside of town, to the parking lots near campus on gameday in any kind of orderly or timely fashion. If you are not already on the campus proper when the sun comes up on game day, good luck getting into that visitors' section prior to kickoff. We were 4 miles from campus 2 hours before kickoff, and it took us another 90 minutes to get to some Piggly Wiggly/JC Penney parking lot a half-mile north of campus.

2. The visitors' section at VH Stadium is the end zone underneath the scoreboard. The brain trust in the OM administration thinks one gate is sufficient to get everyone in that end zone into the stadium. Though the traffic was snarled and we got to our parking place much later than necessary, we were still at the gate as the National Anthem was starting. However, because there was only one gate and one ticket taker, we stood in that line until 3 minutes left in the first quarter.

3. The visitors' end zone is the only section of the stadium that has not been renovated. The aluminum bleachers have a concession stand beneath them - and all food, drink, garbage, etc falls straight from the seats, onto the heads of anyone waiting in line to buy their flat cokes and cold hot dogs.

4. For all the fuss people make about going to Oxford, it is unclear where that comes from. Worst place in the country to see a game. If you're going, be sure to anticipate long waits due to extremely poor organization.

2 hours before kickoff is too late to do anything. The only excuse is if it's an 11:21 kickoff(which was the time slot for the Arky game back in 2009). Tough shite. It's difficult to get on a lot of campuses that close to game time. Bama game is at 5. you should be able to get a decent spot before 1.

There are 3-4 gates to the NEZ. There is also ANOTHER visitors section in the Southeast corner with another 3-4 gates.

once again.....2nd visitor's section in the Southeastern corner. It's not our fault that you bought the cheaper seats for visitors. And besides....as pigs, we figure you're use to rolling around in your own garbage.

I can tell that you're basing all of this on that 11:21 kickoff you had two years ago here. Bama fans won't have these problems unless all of them decide to come at the same time 2 hours before kickoff.

Hey Pank - you didn't do a very good job proofing this latest Forward Rebel's ad in the C-L this morning. It had a typo in it. Impressive!

Little Rock is a 4 hour drive. My son and I got up and drove over. Every other away game we've ever gone to, when we were within 3 miles of the campus with 2+ hours before kickoff, we were fine because the traffic cops knew how to route traffic on game days. These dimwits in Oxford acted like they were surprised so many people were in town that day.

Indeed there ARE 3-4 gates in the NEZ. Saw them with my own two eyes. I also saw the padlocks on them, as only ONE GATE was open with one ticket taker. Having gates and opening them are two different things completely.

When you only have one gate for 5,000 fans, they can start arriving as soon as the gates open, and it will still be a huge clusterf**k.

And as someone who apparently likes Ol Miss, you should be ashamed of that dump and the way your visitors get treated in that end zone. It is absolutely disgusting.

Fortunately for me, I don't ever have to go there again. And I won't

Once again...the only times where congestion is a problem is for early games and everyone leaving immediately after the game. Bama fans shouldn't have this problem before a 5pm kickoff. Leaving will suck though as most people won't stay after to tailgate. You're trying to give advice to a Bama fan with a 5pm kickoff. An arkansas fan's experience with an 11:21am kickoff is irrelevant as is his experience in F'ville. Guess what....I live 3 miles from campus and I know how to get on it no problem 2 hours before kickoff as well. But I'm not going to sit here and try to explain it to a Bama fan not familiar with the area. You know your area and I know mine. I'd be lost in F'ville congestion as well.

No clue why only one gate was open for your game. Someone did frick up there. There were three gates open for the BYU and UGA game in that area.

Why? I'm not in the "visitor's hospitality" department. I'm in the "I give not a shite if the visitors come or not" department. You aren't ashamed of plastic pig hats and I'm not ashamed of you not getting the "Hilton treatment".

Good. Hopefully the rest of your piggy friends will stay in Arkansas as well.

ETA: except for Porky and WPS20 even though he is a registered cock sucker.

After Bama's first two possessions the whole fricking place will be the visitor's section.

mid-2nd quarter. Our fans will be sauced up enough to not know what's going on for the first quarter.

That does bring up a good point though.......if it's a blow-out, they won't have any problems with traffic after the game. And I apologize in advance for any drunken idiots who might do something to a Bama car. Every school has them. Though I would say an LSU or MSU fan's car would be more susceptible to vandalism than a bama car. With a 44-9-2 record against Bama, we've pretty much just rolled over and gone to our happy place as far as fans go.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard of a Bama fan's car getting fricked with after an Ole Miss games. Aside from the fact that they've absolutely raped us in football, I'd say we all in all have a good relationship with Alabama and there seems to be almost no hostility between the fanbases. I'd say we probably get along with them better than any other team in the West.

I just purchased tickets in the southeast corner. I've only been to one game in Oxford. It was when Jamie Christensen kicked the game winner. It was a morning game and we stayed in an RV and I overslept. Didn't get to do any tailgating. So this will be my first time in The Grove. Pretty excited.

I always figured Auburn. Most OM fans generally hate Bama and its fans' guts. But it's one of those gritting teeth and walking away type deals.

Good choice. Unlike our impoverishment Arky friend.

You'll have fun. Just be friendly. If anyone gives you any ribbing, know it's in good nature and just give one back and smile. Don't come here with the "alright, prove to me that you're better than us at tailgating" bullshite like LSU fans generally have.

fair warning....we're still generally bitter about the whole 2007 deal. Don't try and tell anyone that it was a correct call either. Just an FYI.

Actually surprised that there are SeEZ tickets still available. I thought they'd sell out a long time ago. Bama fans usually travel extremely well here and sell out their allotment rather quickly.

Have a great time man. We tend to be pretty hospitable if you aren't constantly spouting shite or a MSU fan. Just chill and enjoy the experience, the view, and the booze.

Yeah, but we went through a full decade where most people certainly hated Auburn more than Bama due to Tommy going over there. I'm over it and am starting to really just not care about Auburn in general. I'm thinking over the decade, most fans will come to hate Bama more than Auburn.
