Wow, I love the excuses this morning.

How is that an excuse?

Getting out coached seems to be a heck of a good reason to lose a game.

The power DID in fact go out during most of the 3rd quarter

You got a link that backs up the "most of the 3rd quarter" statement? The announcers said it happened during 1 series and was restored.

ummmmm....The box is NOT prison. The OC can go down to the sidelines anytime he chooses.

Based off of what a few of the coaches and my co-workers that were there.

There may be a link and may not be......could care less. I already know what happened.

Headsets are run on rechargeable batteries.

Electricity is irrelevant here.

Naw I agree with op. Here is Nutt down there and Austin up there. How can Nutt call a play? good thing is Nix is down there. Don't know what it means to have one up there and one down there but Nutt knows what hes doing. Could have won probably if the plug stays plugged.

are you old enough to remember how we stole one from ya'll in '72 by freezing the clock with one second left so bert jones could get another play? he hit brad davis for the game winning td with that extra play. just sayin', seems like everybody steals games from ya'll.

You are half correct. The headset on the field is run by batteries. The headset in the coaches box is run by electricity.

It's like this so that the SEC can shut one or both of them down. You don't have an option of both being battery powered.

Wasn't born yet. But heard the story several times. Ran like 4 plays in 10 seconds. One of which the QB scrambled.

I also remember hearing about the sign going over the Vicksburg bridge saying "welcome to Louisiana, please set your clocks back 4 seconds"

Yea. Also, the headset antennas don't have enough power to communicate directly to each other. The coaches box head sets are connected to an antenna box.

Pretty much similar to cell phones -> cell towers.

NCAA rules state that USC's coaches box should be shut down as well.

Where do you get that?

NCAA has tons of rules about fair play. If you can't provide something to the opposing team(such as communications), you can't use it either. Whether power outage or not.

Not really bitching about it. Just clearing up the facts.

dumbass OP said USC cut off the power. I was just correcting him in that they just had power problems and that I'm pretty sure USC's was cut as well to even it out.

I'm actually giving props to whomever acted quickly enough to even it out. I'd only be bitching if USC was still able to use the coaches box during that time period.

Also I heard that USC denied Ole Miss water for the entire 1st half. That's right folks, the Rebels didn't have ANY WATER for the ENTIRE FIRST HALF. HOW CAN YOU WIN A FOOTBALL GAME WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ANY WATER? THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. CHEAP WAY TO WIN COCKS.
