Yeah, that does seem a better method but haven't really followed it enough in the past to have an idea how much more accurate it usually ends up.
Lunardi has been impressive over the years mainly because his brackets don't get overly caught up in arbitrary "rules" some other ones do like:
"you absolutely can't be left out with a certain RPI"
"you have to make it with a certain conference record" etc etc
He seems to be a lot more hit than miss on the exceptions to the precendents.
