Pittsburgh takes the cake

First off Pittsburgh is not an ugly town, at all, the downtown, rivers and green hills are beautiful...

Second point, southerners loves to point out how bad "Rust Belt" cities are...

Go to Lake Charles, LA, Jackson MS, Columbia, SC, Alexandria, LA, Memphis, TN guess what they are WORSE than Philly, Cleveland, Akron, etc.

I am from the South, but things up North are for the most part nicer and cleaner than shite down South...

Hold on a goddamned minute.
You can't have Memphis on here without New Orleans. It's the same thing. The cultural acheivements outweigh the dirtiness of the city by a long shot.

You are a god damn idiot. The Ole Miss campus is one of the most highly regarded in the nation. I think we can all agree that it can't get much worse than Starkvegas

I've been to Cleveland once. The first thing I asked a guy who lives there was, "what is the suicide rate around here?" That by far was the most depressing looking city I have ever been to in my life

You apparently have never been to Flint, Michigan. Oy Vey, talk about depressing. It makes Cleveland look like...well, a shitty, rust belt city, but not in the league with Flint or Detroit for that matter.

This was the view I had every day for the first month and a half of my freshman year at Pitt. I lived with Jackie Sherrill (he was from Biloxi) until rooms opened up in the dorms. He lived in a penthouse on top of this apartment building on Mount Washington, which is where this pic was taken from.

Apparently not many people on here have actually been to the UT campus.

Tennessee's campus is hands down the ugliest campus in the SEC. There's not another campus even close to be that ugly.

Even Vol fans say this.

You have never been to UT's campus

UTK is very ugly. Sidewalks are not maintained and the commerce near the university is poor. The Fort Sanders area just north of the main campus has an ongoing homeless problem (improving though). The housing in that area is slowly being upgraded, but most of the houses were quickly build in the 1982 World's Fair with little thought of the future of the housing buildings (and therefore poor workmanship). Nearly half of the students require finical aid with an in-state tuition of less than 10k, which is very cheap for a tuition. so that could by why everything is run-down and cheap in the fort area.

I'm also an alum of UT (I have a B.A. and a graduate degree, both from UT). The UT campus is okay. I wouldn't go so far as to call it beautiful, but it's not bad, either. The campus is certainly getting prettier, albeit at a slow pace.

quote:

You should use caution when walking around on campus. The UT campus is actually fairly dangerous, especially at night and especially in the Fort Sanders area (which technically is not part of the campus). If you're on campus for a football game, don't worry so much about safety at all (the police are out big time). Otherwise, lock your doors and don't be out late at night/early in the morning.

If you want to try and refute what I and others have said about the Vol's campus being ugly, why not post pictures that prove otherwise?

It's telling that not a single Vol fan has done so.
