He's got to be an alter or something, but I did laugh.

It's sad because the guy has some good material. He goes to far with the hick shiite though.

Don't mention the idea of playing more than one QB in a half. Some people's brains might explode.

As do I. When Alabama played North Texas last year, I fell asleep twice.... I used to look forward to cupcake games when we were shitty. Now, not so much.

How could a football championship team with college football legends like Tebow have empty seats.
It's not ancient history when they last won a national championship.
That's weird. Fairweather fans?

The expensive seats are sold out. We're talking about cheap seats in the upper deck. Maybe those were filled with fairweather fans as you say. Or, perhaps, folks had to make a decision on whether to pay their mortgage or get GAtor tickets. These are not likely the most affluent part of our fanbase.
It's not that many tickets, it's Labor Day weekend and it's a shitty opponent. Only the SECR can make this such a big deal.
I'm guessing you won't even notice that many empty seats once the game starts.
Try flaming the Miami fanbase. The TV crew does everything in their power to not show the upper decks or endzones.
The miami Rivals site would love to hear from you.

Road,
Pull my pecker out of your arse and quit acting so butt hurt.
For one, how was my previous post a flame attempt? It was a serious question. I'll ask it again...how does a team that won a national championship just a few years ago not sell out their stadium?
If you think that's a flame attempt, then you're retarded. I think I have the right to ask that question, especially in a thread that is questioning the exact same thing (a thread not started by me, I should remind you).
You're a bit touchy this morning. Bad coffee? Did you fill up your bowl with cereal, pour milk, and then discover on your first taste that the milk had soured? Are you constipated? Did your urine burn this morning?

There's lots of reasons why about 3k seats didn't get purchased. All have been addressed in this thread.
Fair weather fans? Sure, there are some. There are some that just can't make that purchase right now. I'm sure some smarter SECR poster will be able to put the exact percentages on it.
To say any team has fair weather fans is really true. We have them. Everyone has them.
The Swamp will be fine on Saturday and it's sold out for all the non-cupcake games and the UG game.
Perhaps the fairweather fans hate cupcakes.
Again, it's 3k seats (probably less now), against a shite opponent on Labor Day weekend.
I'm just not concerned about it. I don't know why I should be or why anyone else would be unless they just want to say something about fairweather fans and make digs (which is fine and expected). I doubt any other fanbase is honestly concerned with our ticket sales.
Fair enough?

We don't know if won't sellout at this point. With games like these a bunch of tickets are always made available because Bowling Green returns most of their allotment. That said they usually sell and why UF had a sellout streak since 1979.

Nobody is going to sell out like the old days moving forward.
A) Every game is televised on HDTV, why pay the price for tickets when you can watch from your own house at a fraction of the cost?
B) Corporate ticket holders hold some seats and give them out to clients who may or may not be hardcore fans. Also, sometimes corporate tickets go unused.
I wouldn't be surprised to see local blackouts instituted within 15 years in order to get butts in the seats.

But (correct me if I'm wrong) some SEC teams have sold out their stadiums. Therefore, why can't Florida do the same?
If you're blaming the economy, fair enough. But if another SEC team's stadium is sold out, what assumptions can be made? Do they have a richer fanbase? Does that imply that Florida is a poorer state? Or, do Florida fans only show up when they have Urban Meyer, Tebow, and a team that is a preseason favorite to win a championship?
If you use the economy excuse, shouldn't that apply to all teams in the SEC?

I think UF has sold out season tickets, these are individual tickets that would normally go to the visiting school. Bowling Green obviously won't bring that many fans so they make extra tickets available for these games.

Fair enough.
I was just pointing out to Roady that I wasn't flaming...I was asking serious questions. Roady sees the name "Mizzoukills" and he goes off the handle.
Sometimes I have the ability to engage in serious debate. Sometimes...

We have been in the same situation though arguably for better reasoning since we haven't won a NC since 1980. I guess I fans are less demanding and used to supporting a mediocre team.
