It went off the rails pretty quick in College Station.

I had some idea that hiring the players' buddy would likely not get Aggie back to the CWS - and I said as much on here.

But holy cow! Even I wasn't thinking total disaster. What in tarnation is going on? Aren't most of these the same players? That's why they hired the batting coach, right?

Is there no discipline or expectation? Are they just partying their brains out? There has to be something to point to, you don't just take the same team and fall off a cliff without something changing.

I don't think there is one thing to point to. I assumed that this team could do well with any coach because the talent was already there. I couldn't have been more wrong.

They aren't hitting right now. It's that simple. Losing Grahovac for the year hurts, and Sorrell has yet to play with a mysterious hamstring problem, so that's two of your best players out of the lineup. But, compound that with everyone else pressing too hard (seems like Jace LaViolette is trying to hit a 500 ft. homerun into a 20 mph wind with every swing) and it's just become contagious. It could turn around on a dime, but then again, if it goes on long enough, it gets in your head to the point that you need more of a reset than is possible during the season.
