Hey Aggies, taking my 6-year old son down for the game tomorrow. Is there a time when your band marches j to the stadium or similar before the game?

Geaux Tigers.

Don’t allow your Son to be influenced by that cult!

Yes, it looks innocent enough in the beginning. Then the first thing you know he’s into the cult rituals. God forbid he grow up to be a twisted boy cheerleader.

Be warned. I’ve had friends who it happened to, and now they have little cult grandbabies.

He just wants to see the band. And they’re a much better show than these fricking clowns. Nice outfit.

I have to admit when Aggy does that one march it looks really cool from the stands. I don't know how they fit that many people together in unison like that

Very cool, I hope you boys enjoy your time in College Station!

Good luck today… hopefully the game will be entertaining with no injuries!

Don’t worry, he went with me to the Alabama game, so he’s not about to fall for the Aggie hype machine…

One more question - is there free parking on campus, or should I but a $20 pass?

Paying to park makes it harder for your son to be groomed by an Aggy

I like to rip on A&M...

But Kyle is fun place (and I have not seen the upgrades)
Aggie band is pretty awesome precision
Who does not love a cannon?
Dixie Chicken is good atmosphere

Enjoy

If you park North of the stadium in the neighborhoods it’s free.

I usually park around the Dixie Chicken North of the stadium so I can walk through campus.

When does one have to get to that area to be able to have parking available?

Nothing screams "Dixie" like chicken in College Station.

I haven’t seen an official schedule released for tomorrow, but it’s typically formulaic (see below).

If your young lad is interested in experiencing march-in, it’s best to start at the Quad (follow the crowd—you won’t have trouble finding the march-in route) and walk with the Aggie Band and Corps as they enter Kyle.

Have a memorable time with your son! Should you require any help or directions, don’t hesitate to ask anyone; they’ll point you the right way.

3:50pm Corps of Cadets and Aggie Band Fall-out on Quad
3:55pm Spirit of ‘02 Cannon fires on Quad
4:00pm Corps of Cadets and Aggie Band Step-off from Quad
March-in to Kyle
6:00pm Kick-off

If you’re planning on making it to the Quad for march-in, that’ll kick-off around 3:45pm-ish.
Non-tailgaters will be mingling around Northgate all day, so it’s hard to predict a time.
I’d suggest around noonish?

There’s also metered parking and a garage back there (Northgate), so even if you don’t score free parking (that’s a challenge), you’ll be fine.

I’d plan on arriving around lunch, grabbing a burger and brew at The Chicken, then casually making your way over to The Quad.

Have an almost 6 year old. Here you go. Corps of Cadets have their review and it starts 1 1/2 hours before game. Best area to watch with kids is corner of Joe Route Blvd and Houston Street. Band will come down Joe Route first and the torn on Houston Street. They will then reverse and stop at Joe Routt. Music and drums while Corps goes down Joe Routt. Calvary is last. Kids have a good time watching.

Just down Houston St right next to stadium are bounce houses and obstacle courses for kids. My son loves it. Shipleys gives away maroon donuts close by.

I assume you’re referring to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station?

Yes, lights are on.

Sorry, I meant to park in the neighborhood on the “South” side of the stadium.

There is so much to look around and see. If you get there a few hours before kick, you should be able to find something.

Also, in the MSC, they have all a display and write up of all the Aggies who earned the Congressional Medal of Honor.

If you park around the Dixie Chicken… you’ll walk past in on the way to the stadium
