And penn st beat Ohio st, won the conference, but didn't get in.
Bottom line is there is no criteria, and nothing that weighs differently or is stated that matters and takes precedence. The committee is basically picking the 4 best teams and have no basis for how they will do that.
They could get around a ton of this by stating two or three things that they think matter. If being 1 loss matters more than playing a better schedule and being a 2 loss team, or winning the conference and having a head to head as a 2 loss team over a 1 loss, then state that. I would bet Oklahoma is in above Washington if they didn't schedule BOTH Ohio st and Houston.

If this is a penn st argument, ask yourself this question. Would Ohio st., Alabama, Clemson or Washington lose a game to anyone by 30 plus points? The answer to that question should clear this up for some of you.

Yeah. I can see the logic here. The regular season matters more than anything else to the committee.

I do think that the bowls got it right in setting up a marquee duel between UGA and TCU in the Liberty Bowl. Two programs that everyone recognizes as elite and on the cusp of great things someday.

Your example is nothing like FSU. PSU lost two games, one by 40 points. Osu lost only one game, that was a easy decision for them... FSU and Louisville had the same record, explain why FSU gets the nod after losing by 40+ to Louisville

I was trying to help you out and agree with you... sorry for doing so
The point I was trying to make is that they don't have any set criteria for how they rank, so there is no explanation for anything they do really, or rather there can be any explanation. If I had to take an honest guess, I'd either go with Louisville looked worse late and lost the last weekend or two
