What is their goal of the alliance except try to counter the SEC?

I think from the quotes that have come out they’ve been quite clear that this is their one and only goal.

I'm a college football junkie. A typical Saturday will be ESPN GameDay, then I'll an early game like on the Big 10. My school will be next and hope we win. I'll do something minor around the house afterwards to keep the significant other off my case. Then I'll flip channels and watch a variety of games, Big 12, SEC, ACC. I'll eat dinner and then watch the prime time game. Finally, if awake enough, I'll watch a late night Pac-12 game.

Now with all the tension going around college football and with schools and their fans getting left out, my Saturday will be to watch my school play. That'll be it for sports that day. They'll be millions who's Saturdays will be changing like this too.

When people talk about conferences “ top to bottom”, I don’t see that much difference really. Right now I see the SEC as Bama, Ga, Fla, and then everyone else. Big12 OU, Tx, and then everyone else. Big10 tOSU, and everyone else. PAC USC, Ore, everyone else. ACC Clem, FlaSt, everyone else. Who else has won a championship this century other than one of those teams? LSU a flash in the pan occasionally. All other are just middle of the road or bottom dwellers.
