Stidham looked shaky

No you didn't or you wouldn't think what you think...He was 26-36 for 273 1 TD and no INT's. He had 3 runs that kept drives alive and did a better job subtly avoiding pressure. He didn't make a single bad throw all day. He held the ball to long on 3 occasions.

He managed that against one of the top secondaries in the country and D returning 9 starters that was ranked 4th last season.

Oh yea, he made 3 plays on the game winning drive to keep the drive alive.

UW earned a lot of respect yesterday. A physical team which would absolutely be toward the top of the SEC.

That’s not what I took from that game at all.

I saw an AU team that physically dominated weaker opponent early in the game but couldn’t put them away.

Then they let the inferior opponent make it a game before eventually taking the lead.

In the end AU’s superior talent won the game but I wouldnt be thrilled if I was an AU fan cuz it should have been a 20+ Point win.

That's an opinion, indeed.

Yeah but that doesn't fit tRant's narrative about last night. How dare you post that!

I try my best to give everybody crap when they deserve it, but facts are facts. It's not unreasonable for Auburn fans to claim Washington has an excellent secondary.

Says a lot about the quality of receivers and QB that Auburn has.

I was disappointed with your Oline blocking and your secondary, but it's early and those two positions take time to settle in. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I don't like Auburn, but Washington is considered to be one of the best defenses in the country.

Yeah, yeah, I know since they play against pansies, their defense is overrated.

As an AU fan I think it's hard to gauge just what type of team we have other than a team capable of beating a top 10-15 type team at this point. First, no one in the SEC plays almost exclusively zone defense due to the fact most SEC teams have maneaters on the DL. I saw 2 DL for UW that I thought were SEC level. In the end, this was a game in which talent beat scheme. Stidham has elite arm talent and will pick apart a zone when given time.

Pros- Stidham's arm and an actual legit passing game scheme. Our Offensive tackles did fairly well in pass pro. Defense stuffed Washington's run game. Steele should willingness to blitz which he refused to do last year.

Cons-offensive guards and center got beat by UW DTs. DBs had good coverage all game but could not make plays on the ball. Stidham still looks at a good pass rush. In comparison, Browning was standing in the pocket and getting annihilated.

We'll see.....you have the same o-line issues or worse than you had last year....and we see how that turned out.

SEC west winner and a spot in the SEC championship game?

Sounds good to me. Just need to be healthy and we win this time.

What was your teams record last year?
