Baton Rouge, while no Shangri-La, has much more to offer than Tuscaloosa.

Riverboat Casinos, Much more shopping (if that is your thing), Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop, much more diverse dining, much more fine dining, live after 5, pub crawls, pretty big music concerts, great fishing and hunting, great golf facilities, good bars, daquaris to go, liquor in convienent stores, etc. Also, the fact that New Orleans is an hour away, the Abita Brewery tour is about 50 minutes away, numerous historic plantations in our vicinity, and the fact that we are closer to the gulf shores area all make Baton Rouge > Tuscaloosa.

Can we talk then talk about the unemployment rate in Tuscaloosa as compared to BR?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[If you want, I am willing to bet they are basically the same.]

Add work at a job as something that is done more in BR. LA 6.8% unemployment and AL 10.1%

As much as I hate LSU, there is more to do in Baton Rouge. I love Alabama, but Tuscaloosa isn't that amazing.
