The Big 10 has received a ridiculous amount of attention and respect from the media. Would Charles Woodson have won the Heisman Trophy over Peyton Manning in 1997 if Woodson had played in the SEC and Manning had played in the Big 10 instead of the other way around? I somehow doubt it.

yup. Matt Mauck. I will always love when he came off the bench his freshman year to replace an injured R. Davey in the CG to beat Tenn.

I agree with Unbiased Bama Fan, B1G and PAC8/10/12 have a better reputation nationally...rightly or wrongly.

I personally would put the Big 12 ahead of the Big 10. That may change now. Remains to be seen how WVU and TCU will do in a real conference.

The Big Ten's fall from grace is the lack of depth thanks to a shifting population base of parenting age citizens, think I am lying google electoral vote changes.
When All American Devon Still left the feild for a breather the drop off was huge, when Michael Brockers took a play off the kid that replaced him at LSU was almost as good.
Bama back-up Eddie Lacy ran over past and around the PSU starters, while Stater Silas Redd played all game carrying 44 times for 44 yards faring no better against the second teamers Saban gave playing time to in Happy Valley

Check out how each conference has done in bowl games and head to head matchups against SEC teams and come back to me. The Big 12 has gotten raped in bowl games against the SEC while the Big 10 has held their own. The Big 10 also has teams capable of playing pretty good defense which seems to be a foreign concept in the Big 12.
