Why post in the thread then.

I'm surprised Hines isn't playing more of a TE/FB Hybrid, but I guess they're wanting to use Burton as the H-Back, which is understandable. Hammonds is the only one that's penciled in as a starter IMO. I think it will probably be Hammonds, Hines, and Debose/Dunkley.

it's on campus, but you're correct it's not BHG stadium. It's our practice field and I can't think of what the name of it is. It's near the swamp, along the row of other facilities (Odome, baseball field, tennis complex, etc)

Oh ok. And thanks for the link. Despite the fact I want to kick y'all asses when y'all come to BR, I like watching videos of other SEC teams. It adds to the anticipation.

yeah, I'd rather see Hines @ TE over Jordan Reed. Can't wait to see what Burton brings to the F-21, or whatever position it is. but the coaches know much more than me, and I'm hopeful they will put the best guys in the best spot. Something that didn't happen last year.

I really want to make the trip to BR this fall. Don't think I'll be able to though....probably have to wait until 2013 for my first trip to LA.

Exactly. This is the most anticipation for a football season since '08 IMO. At least for me it's. Urban did a poor job of surrounding himself with the best hires after the '08 season, and it showed. So far, I like what I'm hearing and seeing from the current staff.

You need to check it out, definitely. It's the best overall experience I've had in CFB. From the tailgating with LSU fans to the night game in DV, it was the best. Plus, UF won, so that was great as well.

Can't wait for you guys to come down. Hopefully we emerge victorious but I have a feeling it's going to be a long, hard fought, bloody battle to the last down in the 4th quarter.

Really? A lot of fans think we are a bunch of inbred corndogs who do nothing but get drunk and attack opponent fans. Good to know some people think this way.

Well those people are closed minded. From the food, to the people, to the crowd at the game, it was the BEST overall experience. I've been to every stadium and tailgated at every venue in the SEC, and LSU is the best. UF, Tenn, and Bama have great crowds at the game, but the tailgating isn't as good as LSU.

I was sick after watching all the 4th down conversions, but it was a great game. If only we had more DT depth and didn't have to play Mike Pouncey at DT.

I like Hines as a player and I think he needs to be a starter, but he seems a little short for TE, no?

Glad to hear you think about us that way.
Those 4th down conversions were sick. I had to watch that drive 5 times before I could finally believe we actually did that.

That's the thing...
He's undersized for a TE as far as his height, but he doesn't seem fast enough to be a WR. He's an in between type player IMO that would be best suited at H-Back. However, Burton looks pretty damn good as well, and it will be tough to get him off the field.

isn't he about the same height as Aaron Hernandez? maybe an inch shorter?

I think so... We're going to a different style offense now though. Not the S/O anymore.
Posted on 3/23/11 at 3:05 pm to gatordmb89
How do you guys think the players will adapt to the new offense? A lot of those guys have been playing in the Spread for 3+ years.
Posted on 3/23/11 at 3:13 pm to DeafJam73
With our QB, IMO, it will be an easier transition for the rest of the guys to a multiple/pro-style offense than a Spread Option. In the Spread Option there's a ton of motion and other deceiving responsibilities for the WR's. Not to mention the OL was more man to man which is tougher than a zone blocking scheme we're now implementing. Our QB's are more pro style. The only position I question is RB's. Rainey and Demps are the most proven and are considered off tackle backs that are good in the open field. We desperately need Gillislee and Brown to emerge this Spring.
