2024: UGA 13 UK 12
2022: UGA 16 UK 6

IN both of these games UK managed to keep UGA to about 10 total possessions in each game and did not give up many explosive plays. UGA has been one of the best teams in the country in converting third down. For some reason they struggle on third down against Kentucky. Kentucky is built to limit explosive plays. UGA can't bully UK and when UGA struggles to bully another team they struggle. Depth usually takes over BUT thats only when UGA is converting third downs and keeping defenses on the field. U

UK played a brilliant game. When they did make mistakes UGA failed to take advantage of them. Carson Beck had an abysmal game and the offensive line had a horrible game. At the end of the day UGA proved to be what everyone ought to know they are...a college football team that is fully capable of playing lights out and being compeitive with anyone in the country or laying an egg against a fired up team with its back against the wall at home. Very few teams play 12 perfect games in a season. UGA has never done it. They did, however, manage to win the game and that is a better outcome than losing. Getting their nose bloodied in the process is also a good outcome....it provides a lot of shite to work on and the coaching staff has some pretty good tape of people looking like shite during the game.

That said this is the second of 3 games UGA has started slowly. Elite teams do not start slowly. The third game was against a rent a win team so it is hard to start slowly in that one. UGA has some work. The talent and depth is there, the coaching staff is there, its just a matter of making it work. Couldn't ask for a better week to have a bye.
