Not really. No other sport is like CFB and is as uneven in competition levels.

This.

It is absurd to compare CFB to the NFL. There are only 32 teams, with relatively equal resources and talent (both players and coaches). But to admit that is to admit conference aren't equal which is a slope the PAC12, B1G and other don't ever want to go down.

Unfortunately for you, you are going to have to live with Alabama and Nick Saban cornholing LSU's chance at going down as one of the best ever.

The cocoa puffs is strong with this one.

8 team playoff.

The 6 champions of the BCS conferences (as long as they are in the top 20), and 2 "at large" bids.. the highest ranking non-BCS conf. champs in BCS poll. Additional "at large" bids to take the place of the BCS conf. champs not ranked in top 20.

I would say no auto bids for power conferences at all. The conference champ must be in the top 10 to get an auto bid to the playoffs. After that its all wildcards. That way a Boise can get and we don't have to suffer through a 3 or 4 loss team that got an upset in their title game getting in.

Good point

Not even a decent point. Until you have the size of division/conference balance and intra- and cross-divisional scheduling balance that exists in the NFL, NBA and MLB, comparing any (or all) of them with NCAA football is merely looking for a lame excuse to back up your own bias.

I say we let William Hung handpick the four best teams himself.

I support the no conference champions model solely so one day we can back in undeservingly and knock out undefeated #1 SEC Champ Alabama

You may get your chance in 2012! It is possible...
