Chris Black doesn't have a single collegiate reception and you're already calling him a 3 and done Bama fans
No one is saying he's a three and done, they were saying that his hype was that he could potentially be a three and done.
And did you forget how pretty much LSU's ENTIRE fanbase was spouting off about every back that has a decent game for them?
Remember how Ware was the Next Big Thing after the Cotton Bowl? How about how Hilliard was going to be better than T-Rich? Remember when Blue was gonna win the Heisman? Maybe you recall how you all said Hill is a great back, and just like the others he has a few good games then goes back to being decent.

Just an observation.

Am I mad?
No, are you? I think so after your rant of disproval of the entire thread.

Nah. Jerking your chain with a Billy Madison quote does not equal anger.
BTW..This really is a stupid thread.

Both play in a similar system and Murray has 55 more pass attempts than mccarron. It's safe to say cooper>>mitchell
Except that Murray had Michael Bennett, Marlon Brown, and Tavarres King to throw to as well all year. Cooper is by far the best and most times only receiving threat for bama, so it's not surprising that he has many more targets.

We have a lot of good WRs too. White and Black got hurt before the season. Norwood has been battling injuries. Bell is now injured.

All I'm saying is that we have had King, Bennett, and Brown all year for Murray to throw to. Mitchell was a CB the first 3 or 4 games of the year. It's not surprising that your #1 WR has more stats than Mitchell right now. That doesn't mean that Mitchell wouldn't be the best WR on your team. Cooper is legit so that may not be true, however, there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to think that CB would be better than Mitchell. Especially since CB has never even played a college snap before.

And Cooper didn't become a top target until about midseason.

I must have missed where a Bama fan said CB was better than Mitchell?

Thanks to passing offenses that are providing greater opportunity, six wideouts under 6-feet are on pace to break 1,000 receiving yards this season – Jennings, Santana Moss of the Washington Redskins, the Buffalo Bills’ Lee Evans, Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers, the Philadelphia Eagles’ DeSean Jackson and Wes Welker of the New England Patriots. Two others (the New Orleans Saints’ Devery Henderson and the New York Jets’ Laveranues Coles) are on pace to break 950. If all eight were to top 1,000 receiving yards, it would be the first time in NFL history that so many players under six feet had gone over the mark. Yahoo Sports LINK

@ChaseGoodbread: Chris Black no longer in black jersey and no longer running scout team. Signs point to an SECCG career debut

Ok then I understand why he hasn't played this year. However, if I'm a bama fan, it seems absolutely stupid as hell to burn the guy's redshirt for 2 games, when I can instead get 13-14 games instead his senior year in exchange.
Late response, but when you are playing for the hardware, you do what it takes to win. The best we can hope for out of this kid is 3 full seasons. Even if he redshirts, he wont stay until his 5th year. The kid as so much raw talent its unreal and from everything I have heard, he has the right kind of head on his shoulders to make it work for him, evident by the fact that he worked his arse off to get in playing condition at this point in the season when doctors said he would not be available at ALL this year. That takes dedication and a straight head full of perseverance.
I like what the kid brings to the table and was one of the more pissed off Bama fans when he got hurt because I was really excited to see him play.
As I said, you do what you have to do win when you are playing for the hardware. You should know this much better than me being a fan of a team where national titles dont come around nearly as often.

It will be a huge mistake to burn the redshirt. There is 0 chance he will be a 3 and out guy.
Posted on 11/26/12 at 5:02 pm to TreyAnastasio
You are as full of shite as a christmas goose too bro.
Posted on 11/26/12 at 5:05 pm to TreyAnastasio
If the staff thinks he helps us win the SEC CG and get to the National Championship game, why not? I'd question the decision to burn the redshirt if we had nothing to play for, but if he can contribute in these last two games, then burn it.

I say let him play. Sounded like he wouldn't be a 4 year player anyways, and we have more talent coming in every year.
