What you believe the war was about depends on who you believe. Historians do not agree if it was slavery or industrialism. You can argue the fact until you die. I personally don't believe a word from a UC-Berkley grad.

The north would have conceded slavery in a heartbeat if that were what the civil war were primarily about.
