Wisc,Mich St, USC, add Miami are all legit too

I agree about the rankings although not sure the beginning example is the best one. Better examples are why are Miami, USC, and Michigan State ranked this week? Only because of preseason preconceptions not because of anything they have done. Now they may prove later these rankings are correct; however right now, after week 2, no way they deserved to be ranked. That is why the rankings are trash until about mid-October.

There shouldn't be any rankings until at least week 4. How do we know Bama is the best team in the country (not arguing they aren't because I believe they are, only an example). It should be proven on the field in a given season. College rosters change over quite a bit each year and just because a team was great the year before doesn't necessarily mean that same this season. The problem really isn't the Bamas and Ohio States, as they normally do end up top five to top ten year in year out, it is the Notre Dames of college football who get the benefit of the doubt just because of their name. This screws the Mississippi States of college football who are better but have lesser name recognition. And I think this same thinking also skews the college football play-off committee thinking sometimes.
