Hey, I admit I could be wrong, but why would a coach that has a chance to win their conference take a job where they don't?

Baylor has no chance and will never have a chance to win the Big 12. When they match up against teams with better offenses than they have, they lose.
This year, they will lose to West Virginia, Oklahoma, TCU, Kansas State, and at least one other team.
If he has a winning season this year, he needs to bolt as soon as possible, as all of his top offensive players are seniors.

I wonder if Mike Stoops is interested in returning to the big stage again.

The talking heads have already started talking about the pac12 winning their ooc games this weekend and how Arky lost to LaMo
And yet the Pac 12 has lost twice as many OOC games, including a loss by Colorado to FCS Sacramento State.

I knew the media was gonna run with that Pac 12 shite. I'm telling you the media has SEC fatigue and are reaching for anything to knock us down. Do they not realize that USC struggled(somewhat) with an average Syracuse team that Bama and LSU would've destroyed, Colorodo lost to Sacramento St, or some shite, Utah lost to Utah St and Washington got destroyed by a real powerhouse. Arizona beat a rebuilding OSU team with a freshman qb and who happened to beat a piss poor team, Savannah St, by 84 who also happened to be losing to FSU 55-0 early in the 3rd with a running clock(has anyone ever heard of that being done in college). UCLA beat Nebraska, whch considering how bad UCLA has been is good but still far from a power. The Pac 12 is a weak conference with 2 true really good teams. After that it's a bunch of 7-5, 6-6 SEC teams.
As for the thread's intent, Arkansas fans should be resigned to the fact that they will forever be considered 2nd tier as far as coaches go. Money is fine but what good does it do if it ruins the coach's career? They got very fortunate to get Petrino. He was looking for any job to get him away from the NFL.

Arkansas didn't ruin Petrino's career, Petrino ruined Petrino's career.

Petrino's career is far from over therefore not ruined.

Unfortunately, yes. We were the recipient of that during "77-0".
