I don't think Chizik is the least respected becuause of his prior accomplishments as a coordinator but his AU BCSNC Team has a huge *asterisk* and people are watching to see what he does this season - and they're ready to pounce when his team flounders. He won't get much love (or respect) from anyone when he loses 8 or 9 games in 2011.

Larry Coker is no. 1

But Gene Chizik is a very close 2nd. We all know, (even Auburn fans) that they would not have sniffed the title without Cam Newton and to a lesser degree Malzahn.

If the evidence mounts on Cam Newton pay for play then, well you know....

Chizik has coached 3 undefeated teams and 2 national championship teams. There are a lot more NC winning coaching with worse resumes.

Urban Meyer doesn't win in 08 without Tebow

Mack Brown doesn't win in 05 without Young

Nick Saban doesn't win in 10 without Ingram

Every good team has a really good player

True. But - how many coaches win a NC with an anchor player who is a single season transfer with a dark troubled past who was shopped for the highest price up until the moment he actually signed his LOI? I think the stigma of last season will haunt Chizik and Auburn forever.

With how our coaching staff handled the situation, and how much talent we're beginning to stockpile, I somehow doubt it

What the frick is this shite? Is this supposed to be some time of moral victory? I personally don't give a frick if Gene Chizik is the least respected or not.

I would pick Coker but even if it is Chizik I would rather be the least respected with a title than the most respected without one.

That attitude, IMO, isn't consistant with SEC values and is why so many feel so negative toward Auburn and can't celebrate their success comfortably.

People feel negative toward Auburn because Auburn beat that arse up and down the field. They, like you, try to justify said arse beating any way they can, and it's truly pathetic.
