LSU fans should know this after 2007

we owe all the respect we got (before we jumped 238 teams to move to #2) from UF in 2006

I don't give a crap either way. All this hand-wringing is ridiculous.

LSU needs to focus on LSU getting better. All this other crap doesn't matter.

But as SFP pointed out, it DOES matter. It's the reason we have a 2007 national championship. It's also the reason Auburn didn't even get to play for a national championship.

Until a playoff is instituted you HAVE to root for the SEC in major bowl games - especially the MNC game.

If UF is the reason we won it in '07, why did Auburn get in after we won it in '03?

The SEC refs didn't give a frick about LSU when Bama committed three face masks and they didn't call them. They didn't give a frick about LSU when they marked the ball back more than a yard from where forward progress ended on our first possession, which would have given us a first down as opposed to 4th down. They didn't give a frick when Peterson intercepted the ball. They didn't give a frick about LSU when the spotted the ball to 4th and inches for Bama instead of 4th and 1 after the penalty as it should have been.
Why do you think that in the future the SEC offices will give to LSU. They've been giving to Bama my whole life.

frick the SEC. Hook 'em Horns (I only cheer for one SEC team) and it's not the one playing in the title game.

no it's not. neither is 2003.

is because USC and Okie were ranked 1/2 all year long. Had nothing to do with SEC or not SEC. If that's the case then they would have gotten in BECAUSE the SEC won in 03. Auburn was 8-5 the yr before and started the season ranked #17. That's why they didn't get in the NC game

No I don't. This is the way it works. Win the games you play and you'll be in contention. If LSU (the team I root for) wins the games they play, I have a want to believe they will be in the NCG

the sec rant will be a lot more entertaining if bama loses.

i dont want to watch saban win a national championship at bama. you can call it jealousy or whatever you want, but im not pulling for bama. the notion that it hurts the secs image is bullshite. the sec is and will continue to be the best conference in the country and everyone knows that.

LSU's domination in national championship games speaks for itself...if Bama loses, they will be the 1st sec team ever to lose in the title game...not a big deal, what the sec has done in the title game is enough to cancel out a Bammer loss....i'd root for USC before I root for Bama, with or without Saban

hook em

we jump like 6 teams after the final week ONLY because of the respect LSU had based on UF slaughtering OSU in 2006

they wouldn't be ranked ahead to start the year nowadays

BECAUSE the SEC won in 03.

the AP had USC winning

the only reason teh coaches had LSU winning was due to contractual agreement. they wanted to pick USC

the landscape has changed

Plus, Aubie played a piss poor OOC schedule (ULM, Citadel, LA Tech) and OU and USC at least played some other teams in BCS conferences that year.

b.s.- Overall record vs Top 25 teams in 07 did that. If it's all based on "respect" of the SEC, where was UGA, which the media constantly touted as the hottest team. Where was their SEC respect for them? LSU got in the 07 game based on the teams they beat.

so your saying a 8-5 SEC would be ranked higher than Okie and USC teams of 2004? Jeebus

No...we jumped a few of those teams because we had one more win (SECCG)

We jumped UGA because of the SECCG

We jumped VT because we crushed them earlier in the year.

when the frick has a team ever jumped 3-4 other teams with similar records (who did notlose) in teh final week?

has this EVER happened before?

in 2004 or 2005 LSU would not have been ranked ahead of OU or USC in a similar situation

where was UGA, which the media constantly touted as the hottest team.

we were the preseason pimp daddies. that matters to sports writers with over-inflated opinions of themselves

so your saying a 8-5 SEC would be ranked higher than Okie and USC teams of 2004?
