Yes, because watching a batter step off and step back in and step off and adjust his gloves and step back in and then take a pitch and then do the same thing for several minutes is such great television to watch.

Baseball on TV would be great if they edited it like they do professional poker broadcasts so they only show interesting moments rather than every pitch/hand.

I was into fantasy baseball for a good 10 year period. I followed MLB closely because of that. I still didn't watch the games, because baseball is boring to watch. It's less interesting than golf.

I watch braves highlights every morning on youtube. The entire action of a 9 inning game is captured in 5-6 minutes. 3-4 hours and everything of interest that happened on the field is 6 minutes. Baseball is less intriguing than buying an algebra textbook at Goodwill and doing the word problems for fun (this is actually something I do).

I enjoy attending baseball games in person...minor league baseball is a blast. The games at any level are boring as hell but the atmosphere between innings is usually pretty fun. It is worth the hours of watching batters step out and pitchers and catchers staring at one another to see the grounds crew clean up the infield or watch a Home Depot bucket in a footrace with a Dewalt battery drill between innings (an every game event at Truist). There is a reason the seventh inning stretch exists....its because for 77.78% of the game unless you had to piss or ran out of beer you haven't moved and are almost asleep.....outside of that bucket and that drill racing between innings....

By the congrats UT on winning a natty. A championship in anything is cause for a celebration. Well done.

That being said Tennessee played 71 baseball games this season. 71. This is one of the problems with baseball and basketball...71 games at an average of 2.5 hours (probably a little low) is almost 180 hours. Thats 4 and a half weeks of full-time employment. Basketball is slightly better but still about 3 and a half weeks worth of full time employment. It would seem that all of the deep thinkers who are capable of understanding the nuance of nut scratching and seed spitting would think of a way to speed that shite up juuuusssstttt a scosh....
