What does Richt's ineptness have to do with this thread?

Yeah if Bama gets 2 cracks at it ever time they'll probly win one.
Why do you think Arkanas fans wanted another crack at Bama? Harder to make adjustments for the second game. If you won, what do you improve on?
Bama had an advantage goin into that game. A huge one. They already had LSU's best shot on Bama's field and had the tape of it.

For the record I don't think Arkansas last year could have beat LSU or Bama eithre of 2 times. They would have had a much better chance agin Bama the second time. We just couldn't stop the run.
But I do think we were the 3rd best team in the country!

I think "IF" Petrino were at Arky this year and Kniles can stay healthy Arky had a really good chance at going all the way. I just think what has held them back other than the defense is Arky is a one dimensional team and Kniles changes that. But the defense would need a little help and being Arky plays LSU and Bama at home would be some just not sure if it would be enough.

Petrino lettin them tackle and bat down passes in practice would have gone a long way to helping the defense IMO.
this team MAY be more rounded for 1 year since the enfasis isn't all on the offence.
I look for them to be better for one year then fall off/reload. This year, 11-1 or so and then 9-4, 8-5. good qbs comin up.

I was really surprised to find out how CBP ran his practices. Not only does this hurt the D as you said, I think it hurts the O. Hard to make on field adjustments if you don't in practice.

Since Bama is using revisionist history to win a game the record says it lost: If Ruben Randle does not drop a sure TD pass, the whole "only needed 1 FG out of 5 to win" argument is redundant. As to the "best team" argument, I've looked at the stats & there is nothing there that says Bama was the better team, as they were fairly close. So I guess it's the fact that Bama got close enuff to kick all those FG's: Our argument is our defense pushed them backwards every time they got into decent range. Fact: Bama lost yrds every time it penetrated into FG range. Typical argument: Bama never loses a game, it always beats itself.

IMHO Jeff Long should be fired. That has to be the worst business decision "EVER". If Long was a CEO of a business he would be fired right now.

dbt...geaux tigers.. Petrino had his way of doing things. If the offence didn't succeed he got mad. Sometimes at the defense. That being said, I'd welcome him back RIGHT NOW.
The idiots on ESPN saying "Arkanas realizes its mistake and rights it, firing Petrino.." I don't see a mistake. He moved us light years forward. I would hire him agin in a second. one of you all will too...very soon (winking toward Knoxville). What makes ESPN mad is they said..."your little old Arkansas...you gotta be happy with NuttNutt and 7-5 and a trip to the Weedeater bowl on account you cain't get a better coach. But we did. and our job is much more attractive becasue coaches see that Long will devote whatever resources he has short of sellin his own body...an d he might do that....to make it happen here.
Legend, if Frank Broyles was here....well the white haired devil knew where the bodies were buried. That would have not gotten out to the media. It might not have made it to the police... long goofed there. too much info too fast. if broyles was there, Bobby would have gotten a medal for being a Hero somehow out of that whole deal and probably a small raise. The paper would say "Bobby saves intern on motorcycle." And we would all applaud.

I'm with ya on that. A lot of UT fans say not so but I guarantee you CBP would have the Vols competitive for ATL in two years.
