We are comparing holidays to me not caring about what lsu football did in 1958?

You are the one said you don't care about stuff that happened a long time ago. And yes. Believe it or not, stuff that happened a long time ago matters. Billy Canon matters. It is very shortsighted to claim something that happened before you were born does not matter.

Florida is the true sleeping giant of the sec east.

They might be, but consider this. The top 5 states in talent in the country is California, Texas, Georgia, Florida and Ohio.

The most underachieving programs in the country based upon this in the most recent years has been:

Georgia
USC
U of Texas
Florida (not as much Florida, but lately...)

Of the top 5 states, Ohio State has had the best years lately. Just because they are in a talent rich state does not guarantee anything.
Georgia seems to be turning the corner (Seems being the key word) but there does not appear to be anybody else close. USC gets ranked high, but falls short in their own conference every year.

Okay. But it is still shortsighted to dismiss sports accomplishments before you were born. Trust me, you grow old and time passes quickly. People make a big deal over Georgia and 37 years, but 38 years old is not old.

Texas is 7-1 vs bama all time... Just saying.

But the 1* was pretty sweet!

There are many anomalies in won-loss record in games versus certain opponents sprinkled all throughout CFB.

Texas vs Bama stands out. AU's relative success vs Bama (somehow only being down around 10 games in the series) stands out. Texas having a comfortable series lead versus Oklahoma is another. Michigan having a big edge versus Ohio State STILL (despite being almost winless in the last 15 meetings) is another. Vandy versus AU.

There are many.
