Texas Tech has lost its last three games to Iowa State, Texas, and OSU by a margin of 33-159.

Any team that loses to Tech on its home field does not deserve to be a top 5 team
.

You can make arbitrary arguments like the bolded thing in whatever random direction you like

For example: any team that gets blown out in a must win game (arky/bama) does not deserve to be a top 5 team... or any team that struggles with the worst team in their division (arky/ole miss) does not deserve to be a top five team

Whatever. It comes down to opinion with this sort of thing and the opinions are going to be mixed because while OU has an ugly and unexpected loss Arky has a blowout loss and a bunch of closer than they should have been results against meh teams.

It therefore seems unlikely the opinion polls will draw a major distinction between arky and ou and the computers will continue to favor OU by a wide margin.

Take it up with teh computers if you don't like it

And you can continue believing that a loss to Alabama on the road should hurt worse than a loss to Tech at home.

actually I don't believe that... it is the rest of the season's results that make OU look more deserving than Arkansas right now

Outside of each teams' one loss, they are both undefeated. Again, OU losing to an unranked, shitty arse team at home should drop them further in the polls than what it did. You keep citing Arkansas' "struggles" against inferior opponents, but even when we struggled we won. Yeah, Arkansas was beaten badly by Bama, but when you consider that Arkansas had several key injuries and that was our first real test and our first road game, and since then we've reeled off 6 straight wins, it looks a hell of a lot better than losing to Tech at home.

seeing as arky trails OU in the harris (6 vs 5), the coaches (6 vs 5) and the computers 8 vs 6)

Arkansas is LSU's 12th victim of the season.
Qb is average, defense sucks, and special teams are less than average.

There are plenty of idiot Arkansas homers out there too. While we are talking about homerism, I'm sure that plays no part in your own analysis either.

yeah, cause i love OU

oh wait, I don't and have no reason to favor Bama over Arkansas (but yeah IMO both of those teams are better than Arkansas)

Arkansas is the only team left that could possibly keep LSU from making the SECCG; it's in LSU's best interest for Arkansas to be ranked as low as possible right now so that if Arkansas does upset LSU, there will be less of a chance Arkansas jumps Bama and goes to the SECCG.

the reality is only an absolute drubbing of LSU by Arkansas will drop LSU enough in the opinion polls to overcome teh computer advantage they have over Arkansas

the Arkansas game is as close to irrelevant as it could possibly be in this situation. unless LSU completely shits the bed (against Ole Miss or Arky) it can't keep us out of the SEC CCG

If Arkansas beats LSU, Arkansas just needs to jump Bama in order to go to the SECCG.

Phil Steele and the 90 other preseason publications that ranked bama #1 are not going to let that happen... they are dying for their preseason pick to be validated

which in this case happens to inadvertently frick arkansas

Bama ain't dropping at all in the opinion polls unless they lose to Auburn or squeak one out while Arkansas destroys LSU... and that doesn't even address the computer advantage they will hold over Arkansas in any case

As a LSU fan you couldn't ask for much more right now. Our out of conference opponents (Oregon and WVU) are looking like possible conference champs - with Oregon still an outside possibility of a BCS NCG participant. LSU has drubbed most of their opponents (all but bama) and beaten a bama team on teh road that otherwise looked pretty much unbeatable.

If all that isn't money saved up for a rainy day then there is no such thing. Even if the voters go full retard the computers are going to prop up LSU

IMO, LSU should not drop below Bama unless Arkansas beats LSU by 2 TD's or more, which isn't happening. If Arkansas ends the season on a 8 game win streak and with a win @ #1 LSU, and only loss @ Bama early in the season when we had several injuries, then I think there will be some voters who will believe Arkansas deserves to jump a few spots in the rankings. I admit it's a long shot that Arkansas overtakes Bama, but I would not be surprised if it happened (assuming Arkansas beats LSU).

When you judge teams by their accomplishments I think you have to pick OU over Arky by a wide margin... even if say OU beats Ok State and Arky beats LSU (beating LSU at LSU would be a great win but on the balance of the season Arky has clearly beaten much worse opponents)

Are you really saying the Big 12 is better than the SEC?

We've got the best special teams in the SEC

Kicker top notch
Punter top notch

I'm saying what I said, the teams OU has beaten are a lot better on the balance than the teams Arkansas has beaten this year. It is hard to dispute really:

Arkansas Razorbacks

Record: 9-1, 5-1 SEC
BCS ranking: 6
Combined record of defeated FBS opponents: 33-46
Wins over ranked teams (when Arkansas played them): 3
Wins over FBS teams with current. 500 or losing record: 6

Oklahoma Sooners

Record: 8-1, 5-1 Big 12
BCS ranking: 5
Combined record of defeated FBS opponents: 46-31
Wins over ranked teams (when OU played them): 3
Wins over FBS teams with current .500 or losing record: 3

Message for the LSU haters.
LSU is #1.
No voter(60) in the entire country cares about the hogs.
It is LSU for the titles, SEC, and BCS. Instead of making a remark, display a stat that shows otherwise.
