LSU was never going to pay Jimbo what he was asking. Alleva and the board showed up to the table with a bag of pennies when they needed an open checkbook. Shady Louisiana politics had way more to do with this debacle than most people know. It doesn’t just start and end with Alleva. It goes further up than that.
