Sounds extremely painful. My sister was hit in a face by a softball coming right off the bat in high school. Took weeks for the swelling to go away.

UPDATE: Following UT’s 7-5 win over Alabama, Texas coach Mike White said that Elish was in “good spirits” and had sent the team a congratulatory message with her doing the “Hook ’em” sign. White said the softball hit Elish on the side of the nose by her cheekbone. Elish has been ruled out for the rest of the super regional, which wraps up on Saturday afternoon. White said it had not yet been determined if Elish would need surgery or how she would be transported back to Austin.

Im shocked that she looks that good. Was worried they were going to have to rebuild her cheek/eye socket. Good for her.
