Remember this thread anytime you hear a sip or sooner bitching about A&M bolting to the SEC and any negative connotations that go along with it. There is significant cause and effect and it has not impacted those two teams well with recruiting in the state of Texas.

You post something positive about aTm and the SEC, and so far the LSU fans can't stand it. Then they want to claim that aTm is not a rivalry to them. Man this is the kind of stuff you get from Bama/Auburn and SCAR/ Clemson. The two most intense rivalries on here. Or at least they were until Aggie joined.

And, ain't it great!? No other conference in America even comes close to the SEC in its tradition, grandeur, rivalries, the food, the women---we've been blessed 'cause we pert'near got it all!!
Right now, the meanest and hottest rivalries going on in the nation are: Georgia-Florida, Alabama-Auburn, LSU-Texas A&M, Ole Miss-Miss. State, LSU-Alabama, and USCjr-Clemson.
And the Texas Longhorns ain't no where to be seen except on their prairie eating grass, crapping bucketloads of manure, and tipping their hats to their fellow brothers like Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, etc. You just KNOW Oklahoma is embarrassed to even be associated with the Big 12 and the Texas Longhorn braggadocio.
Texas A&M is now BIG BROTHA to the Cows and the Cows better get used to it. Who gives a darn whether A&M's brought any recent hardware with them or not...even if they don't, they'll be doing enough just to keep Texas DOWN. And that'll suit them just fine.

The deal is that recruiting has improved for A&M since joining the SEC even more dramatically than the numbers in the OP suggest. Texas gets a recruit, or it gets out that he is looking to commit to Texas, and he suddenly shoots up to 4 star status. The recruiting services, for whatever reason, cater to the school in Austin. ESPN, of course, has financial reason to help Texas get out of the mediocrity they've been mired in for the last decade.

The sec is a prestigious athletic conference. Why would they put up with Aggy? The answer is $$$.
