People said this about Alabama around 2004-05. It came true, but not because of the head coach at the time.

No one thought that about Shula, but people think Dooley can do it at Tennessee. They think he's Nick Saban Jr. I just don't see it.

ETA: And I guess it depends on what competing for the division title means.

Newsflash. Dooley inherited shite as a program and with all the bs surrounding UT athletics, it's gonna be harder repairing the crap that is UT's image.

I don't see how getting 3*s is going to make things any easier.

Only total idiots. Not one thing he's done has been good. He's a fricking joke.

Do you know Lane "little kiffey" Kiffen was your "punk" coach last year?

There was a glimer of hope after the 2005 season. People were pretty optomistic going into 2006, and beyond. However, it was short lived, and people realized Joe Kine's defense was more responsible for the few shining moments of the Shula era.

I like Dooley, but I don't know why he continually gets compared to Saban, considering Dooley's overall body of work. Saban has never had a losing record at the college level. Now, that's not to say that the light doesn't come on for Dooley, as it did for Saban in 1998 at Michigan State.

That's pretty harsh for a first year coach for the program you root for.

He improved the program's talent level drastically in the two classes he recruited. It'll be Kiffin to thank when Dooley has his one or two years of mild success around 2012-2013.

I for one consider Dooley to be more like Shula.

His repair job is pretty much the same, and he seems to be similar in personality to Shula.

By the way, Bama fans ought to thank Shula for what he did for the program. He may not have been the "Bear Jr." but he resurrected Bama from the depths.

What has he done that's helped the program? Nothing. He recruits like he's still at LA Tech. The talent level will be equal to that of Kentucky by the time he leaves. The only thing he'll do is improve the numbers and it would be pretty damn hard not to do that considering he has 65 scholarship athletes right now.

Do LSU fans thank Dinardo at all?

Good gawd, you are stupid. Kiffen f'ed UT up the arse and you want to possibly thank him? Unreal!

You think Dooley's a joke???

I actually have some faith that, if given time, he will bring you back.

DiNardo was an improvement over Hallman, but he f'ed up football and T&F with his football-only mentality.

Kennison got punished his junior for defying DiNardo by running track. Two-sport athletes didn't consider LSU for the most part because of his bs.

I'd say LSU doesn't thank Saban...generally speaking.

Yeah because Corey Miller, Janzen Jackson, Jawuan James, Justin Hunter, David Oku, Greg King, Montori Hughes, Marlon Walls, Zach Fulton, Eric Gordon, Marsalis Teague, and Michael Palardy suck balls. Without them we'd be in much better shape.

No shot. If in his career he beats UGA, Bama, or UF more than one time combined I'll never post here again. 2012 and 2013 should be New Year's Day Bowl type squads thanks to Kiffin, but other than that Dooley will fail miserably.
