Early to mid season rankings don't and historically very seldom made much sense.
The fact you put this much thought and words to it is amusing. CFP is who determines playoff teams anyways.. not AP or coaches polls.

It all works out in your head, huh? How about you focus on winning the games in front of you. If TAMU does that you'll wind up where you need to be.
ETA: And you don't have a better defense. You don't even have a better offense when our OTs manage to do more than serve as doormen for defenders.
