The reason we went to 4 from 2 was to assure a B1G school got in. The SEC may have the better product but lots more living alumni at B1G schools and they want to watch their conference play. Since they took away the computers (which would find the B1G schedule soft) and put it to a small group of folks behind closed doors, they pick who they want and then reset the narrative to fit their decisions.
Remember when Gators started the SEC run they were not in the mix until a journalist or two got in the mix. Starting in the 1950's it has been B1G and PAC vs everybody else. CFA was formed to join everybody else to compete (and why Notre Dame never winds up in the B1G). If they can squeeze 2 B1G teams in (especially if the are Ohio State and Michigan) they will.
We went through this with the NCAA in basketball so not exactly new.

I think your thinking is on point and up voted you. Probably some delusional Tennessee fan was your down vote. They will be in denial all the way to the end.

You do know Tennessee has a huge fan base right? Eyeballs

USC loss to 13th rank Utah. Tennessee lost to number one Georgia. But they beat number seven Alabama and number eight LSU. So Southern California football schedule is a weak compared to Tennessee’s.

Realistically, Tennessee has a very good chance. We just like messing with some of their more idiotic fanbase.

TCU loses IMHO
I guess it is possible. But, to who? (Whom?)
Baylor? No
Iowa State? No.
BIG 12 Championship game (Probably Texas? Or a Kansas State team they already beat by 10?) I don't see it, either.
Plus they (Coaches poll....and I suspect the committee will follow suit) have positioned USC to jump a team that does not play for their conference championship.
Don't get me wrong. I still think Tennessee is a top 4 team, and I also think there is a path, but it won't be an easy path.

No way in hell USC gets in over Tennessee
Why? because they lost a 1 point game to a ranked Utah team?

TCU can win out and it still doesn't matter imo. Vols are going.
You think Tennessee will jump an undefeated conference champion? (TCU)
Or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

Can't speak for him, but I could see it. You are talking about Ohio State and a Michigan team that went tot he playoffs last year. True, Michigan got blown out, but if that were the only disqualifying factor Alabama would not have gone after Clemson blew them out several years ago.
Bot teams had strong years last season and both have strong teams this year.
(I am not arguing that they deserve it or are better than UT or even that they should go. Just that the committee could send two)
