I predict that the SEC will declare Mallett ineligible for 2010 because of their fear that the hogs may compete for the west title next year.
This preempitive strike will keep the West in perfect balance. There is a rumor though that instead of declaring him ineligible, they will require that he pass left handed. Either way, in the refs I trust.

If you want to go by passing, you should be comparing Mallett to Brantley.
As far as skill those two guys are close.
Both guys have a quick smooth release
Both guys have a strong arm although Mallett has the stronger one.
Brantley is much more accurate
Both guys know where to go with the ball, good at reading defenses.
Both guys will have NFL careers.
