It took Jay Johnson 10 years to win his first natty as a HC. Vitello did it in his 7th. Not really a fair comparison, since Vitello won at a faster clip and coached for only 8 years overall. Then again, nothing about this board is supposed to be rational or fair.

And Jay Johnson is only 48 and already has two Nattys. He is building a monster at LSU and just getting started. Let's say he coaches another twenty years. He has a good shot at replacing USC with the most titles in baseball.
