Actually, it was an extra point. We would have killed them in overtime.

I think the spread is already a "legitimate" offense now in the SEC. For that matter 3 (UT in '05, UF in '06 and '08) of the 4 last NC's have been won by spread offenses (exception being LSU in '07).
Beyond that: 1) I think DC's will adjust. Heck, TCU seems to have already solved the puzzle. And I thought OU did a pretty good job against y'all. 2) It seems as if the Achilles heel of spread offenses is that it takes a talented QB to run it and engages the QB in more contact than other offensive schemes over the course of a season.
