Dude, no. Vols flying into DFW airport before hoofing it to OKC was an obvious implication and bragging about DFW the metro area. I recognize that most of the SEC school fans have never been to an airport and might think it brag worthy, but the world is a big place. Just wait until this technology called “an Uber app” makes its way into Vicksburg and Birmingham, once the business case makes sense for others besides payday loans and dollar generals to invest down there.
Ok, well aside from all the bullshite you are talking about, the way plane tickets work is you fly to major hubs and then either fly to the next destination, or drive etc.
Nobody gives a frick what the name of the city is, or anything else. I have a kid flying home next month from the Pacific NW. He's going to be stopping in Salt Lake City. Is it because anyone gives a frick about SLC? No, it's because that's where he changes flights.
Once again this is why I never believe people from Texas when they say Texas is so great. If it was actually so great you all wouldn't need to be so full of shite.

For one, your #1 and #3 can be combined sod buster so your list is really only 3 items.
2nd the SEC contains a few of the poorest states in the US so hoping that this boosts your economy is dumb considering we have MS and LA.
It’s a false hope. I am proud that Oklahoma is probably the reddest state in the union but touting fans traveling to Norman as a boon really won’t do anything.
Sorry to bring bad news

You know what you are right. I’m wrong. I didn’t think about it from that angle and I think it’s maybe because I’ve never lived in a backwater food desert that collapsed into the poverty it is today once the free labor was freed (e.g. most of Louisiana and all of Alabama and Mississippi) I’ve never had to jump through hoops and make connections. Even my flights to Heathrow are direct. Sucks to suck.

Right, you travel the world while at the same time being clueless about how plane travel works.
And it's because you only fly to and from to big name destinations, because anywhere else isn't worth going too.

Right, I’m so clueless about the hub and spoke system of airports!!!11one
The funniest part is that you missed in my original post the designations of “At the baggage claim and skylink”, to quote myself and repeat it again, with the implication being they are NOT connecting flights, but rather stopping off in Dallas and exiting the airport (for why would you pick up your bags if you were connecting, dare I ask Herb Kelleher the III?)

Most commonly you would do that because you are switching to a smaller airline for the final flight.
To use my son as an example, I did not mention the starting part of his flight is on a very small airline that only services smaller areas. So he will take that flight, get his baggage at the airport from it, then check his baggage again with the major airline.
Or, it's just cheaper to rent a car from Dallas than to fly because the smaller flights are actually the more expensive ones.

Appears universities are successfully running a minor league football to gain the financial benefit of it.

The former would never happen at DFW and the latter is what I was speaking to when I said enjoy the last bastions of creature comforts (restaurants and cultural value added things to do) before heading north into Comancheria.
