Heh, I was watching the Harris highlights, and I kept looking at all the naked concrete in the stands where the seats and benches usually are...
I wonder what Tiger Stadium's seating capacity is right now, minus the upper decks? It can't be very high...

Not very high. Almost all benches/chair backs have been uninstalled. The second picture you can kind of see Rob Ryan in the white LSU pullover taking a picture with some guy
Pic of quad I took too

The west side is already done, right? IIRC, I saw pics of the seats removed in the west lower bowl in some of the construction update threads in weeks past.
Nice pics!

Yes I believe so
eta: Do you know if they plan on installing a LED ribbon board between the upper and lower sections of the existing south end zone? I hope so, it'd tie everything together imo.
If not, I'd be cool if they installed "Welcome to Death Valley" with blacklit lighting

The addition is very very imposing. The way they stacked the clubs/suites makes the addition appear very steep. I felt intimidated just sitting there
Are they eventually going to renovate the other end? What is stadium capacity going to be this year?

I don't think they'll ever try and expand the North Endzone due to the iconic LSU backdrop/arches/windows (or I hope not). However, they did recently renovate that north exterior. Replaced all windows, expanded scoreboard, installed new fencing, etc.

Do you mean renovate or expand? Because the north end zone was renovated a couple of years ago. Expansion is problematic...there's not nearly as much room for an expansion in the north as there was in the south. And the south was shoe-horned in.
Edit: Beat me to it...:)

LSU senior associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said the twin video boards will go up later this spring and that the construction won't hamper the LSU spring game on April 5 nor the Bayou Country Superfest May 23-25.
"All indications are we will be right at the 100,000 mark, up to about 101,000," Nunez said.

Yeah I meant expand. And if they do expand, i think they should go with the four video boards in each corner of the stadium like Rupp' and BDS do. Really adds an extra dynamic to the stadium.

I'd actually rather a bigger scoreboard than the one we have in the north endzone...
...minus the ads! Because LSU removed the SEZ scoreboard...in fact they cut the SEZ scoreboard in half, and added it on either side of the north scoreboard...it had to double up the ads on the NEZ scoreboard. Thankfully, that contract expires this season.

Yeah I like the corner scoreboards too - I like that about BDS. We're actually installing two this year with the addition

IIRC, the plan was to install an LED ribbon board on the expansion, between the upper and lower suite levels.

With curiosity about Kiffin and the new offense, plus going on recent attendance, I would think Bama will have 80,000 plus for A Day.
Given good weather it could be a record crowd.

Check out this pic, it shows where the locations for the LED ribbon boards are in red...

BTW, this is what the NEZ scoreboard looks like WITHOUT all the ads...

I think if LSU marketed thei spring game like we do at Alabama, then you would see a turnout.
Like a previous poster mentioned, make it an "event" worth traveling for. It would t be hard to get people in Louisiana to show up for it.
A simple recipe would be to have a concert Friday night in the stadium or at the parade grounds, have a baseball game during the day, emphasize tailgating, bring the band out, to perform, get the local bars involved, and get everyone to get In the gameday spirit, then, have a 7pm kickoff.
The reason I go to A-Day is because the University does an A+ job that weekend. All of the bars setup for it Friday and Saturday night, they allow, and encourage tailgating on the quad, they have the captain's ceremony by denny chimes, the band does their normal gameday routine, and everyone comes to town to provide a gameday like environment.
Heck, Mississippi State does a great job. They tie in Super Bulldog Weekend with a Wocka Flocka concert Friday night, Ole Miss baseball series that night, and provide for fans to setup in the junction and tailgate.
Lets get serious-- we all show up dressed up and ready to roll for these ridiculous games against UT-Chattanooga, so why not show up in the spring and get a little taste of football before we endure the football drought for another 150 days?

In all seriousness, all LSU needs to do to encourage a turnout is to award Priority Points for attending the Spring Game.

The LSU Priority Point System is a system developed and used by TAF and LSU to allocate certain tickets and parking passes based on giving to LSU and its Affiliated Organizations (TAF, the LSU Foundation and the LSU Alumni Association).

What else is there to do in Alabama. These people are miserable all year long when football isn't on. Pawwwwww the spring game is the greatest day of my life.
About as much as there is to do in Louisiana, minus swimming in the swamps and add swimming in the beaches.

Damn so we're putting in 3 ribbon boards?
