Many coaches "move on" after three years because they know they wont be retained. We all know this. Just because they weren't "fired" doesn't mean they weren't led to the exit.

List of coaches who moved on after 3 years:

Bill Curry

He was offered a new contract before he left, but he didn't like it.

Another thing I didn't mention is - I flat out like this teams players more than I have Alabama teams over the past 3 or so years. Not as mouthy and arrogant anymore, more humble. What I remember the most about the above collapse is how much shite taking and such our players did that offseason coming into the first game against UCLA. Terrible attitudes, full of themselves, entitled. Saw the same thing in games against teams like Vandy last year. I hate that crap.

And that started under Saban. It seems DeBoer has gotten that under control - part of that likely coming from the loses, but those were things the players ultimately needed. A reality check.

Bill Curry - 10 win season his final year.

Unless you want to go back to 1915 when the coach got typhoid fever and then joined the military to fight in WW1.

I'm guessing he's also thinking of Ray Perkins. He went 4 years, also had a 10 win season his final year. He left to go back to the NFL. He was a former player under Bear and likely only took it because Bear was going to be hard to follow.

And then you have Fran, he left after 2 years. 10 win season his last year also. He left because the NCAA sanctions were worse than he expected them to be, and didn't want to deal with them.

All of them had 10 win seasons before they left.
