I hope he gets the job at Vandy or someplace. He deserves a shot at being the HC. A lot of people think he's just been lucky to have guys like McFadden and Newton. They believe he'll fail without that rare talent. But all I can say is Arkansas' offense was better the year he was our OC than the year before and not as good the year after he left. McFadden was there the whole time.

I thought Nutt basically shut Gus' offense down after a few games??

Malzahn is not going to commit career suicide just for some cash. After Miles is forced to resign, Petrino dashes for a better gig, Mullen is pushed out, and Saban looks for better places after his OC and DC leave, Malzahn will have his pick. I kid, I kid.
You don't leave when you're on top to go to Vandy.
You wait until Clemson opens up, somewhere in the southwest opens up (where he has ties), or you wait for an SEC opening.
You don't go to Vandy where you're guaranteed to lose. It doesn't matter what the AD pays you. Their facilities suck, the fan base doesn't care, and they will never get the players to compete.

It's a stepping stone job, right now he probably wouldn't be strongly considered at the top third SEC schools without going somewhere first. IMO, it all depends on his buyout at Vandy. If he can get a contract that has no buyout after 3 years, then he should take it. Not winning at Vandy doesn't hurt you that much.

Malzahn appears to be good, but it's way too early in his college career to be making statements about him like the one above.
Name an offensive coordinator in college who in the last decade has made a bigger impact on the game of football? College and Pro.
