So when does the National Guard show up to help your bankrupt city/county? Birmingham has much to be proud of... a crazy mayor under Federal investigation, going bankrupt, furloughing 100's of county employees including sheriff's deputies, sky high crime rate and a downtown that reminds me of a demilitarized zone....yeah, great place to live and raise a family.

Seriously, why all the hate on Dothan? I moved here 6 years ago and love it. It's growing like crazy. Now surrounding areas, as stated earlier, may be a bit shady, and there's certain areas I don't want to go nor do I want my children around but that can be said anywhere.

I worked for a company out of B'ham whose plant is over there....shady. Have some friends in Vestavia and Hoover....it's nice, but not any nicer than Dothan imho. Now the city of B'ham? It's screwed.
