What does historical prominance have to do with it? What was Florida's reputation in basketball and football 25 years ago compared to now?
I realize you're an Alabama fan so holding on to what occurred thirty years ago seems invariably important but it's not.

Here's my problem, Lucky is fighting tooth and nail with other rantards that Gottfried is just as good of a coach as Brady was (why arguing over either coach is beyond me; both fanbases are happy to move on) and it's a debate even though Brady has gone to a Final Four, but it's not a debate over whether TJ is as good or better than Pearl because Pearl has an extra tourney appearance while at UW-Mil.
I certainly think a case can be made for Pearl to be over TJ and I'm fine with that. But the two debates are very similar when you think about it and Lucky is arguing out of both sides of his mouth once again.
