my biggest thing is slive HAS hell of alot more important things to do regarding quite a few SEC schools,
You act like this is taking up 5 months of his time. What makes you think that he wasn't taking care of other school's "business" up until now?
You have no idea what he's doing. This can probably be done in a single day.

ive been saying all along that slive needs to come to a decision on what to do and quit dragging this shite out. its been 4 months since the end of the season and still no action. he just keeps bringing it up like hes holding it over our head as in a way for us to keep our mouths shut about everything else going on. everyone knows it

This is only the 2nd time that I've heard about Slive talking about penalizing you. They mentioned it a month or two back saying that they would get to it at a later date......and they're talking about it now.

Did your inside sources predict Cowbellgate?

Yes, guess it skipped a generation.

When Scott Stricklin went to the AD meeting last year, he already knew that eliminating cowbells was a possibility and he devised a new plan to make it work. I was at the last two home games, and besides the student section, it worked perfectly. This year will be the same situation. I only see one move that he can make if he wants to keep them around, because I feel like if they make them illegal again the SEC will monitor State's efforts to enforce the rule. The only way I can see it working is if they kick fans out of the game for ringing irresposibly, and they have to start enforcing it at the first OOC game so the fans get used to it before the first conference game. If you see someone ringing when they shouldn't you text a number so security comes to your seat and you tell them who it was. Either the fan gets one warning before getting kicked out or you just go ahead and kick their arse out. Problem solved. Tradition saved. Retards are kicked out of the game and hopefully don't come back for a while. Yay.

I agree with all of this.

not gonna happen. i say since the max fine is 50,000 per game and our stadium holds roughly 50,000 that they add 1 to 2 dollars on the price of each ticket and let em ring baby.

and then the SEC sees that MSU is clearly ignoring the rule and starts to enforce heavier fines or tougher punishments.

I love that plan if it didn't make them get banned again the next season.

this might work, but the perpetrator would have to be caught in the act of ringing at the wrong time. I guess we are going to need some undercover cops.

ole miss tried it at the egg bowl. Of course they would've needed less evidence, like a cowbell under the seat.

i mean keep the ring responsibly shite going but your always gonna have that handful (or thousands) of fans thats not going to listen. so as a way to cover their asses add the 1 or 2 dollars anyways and just set that money aside and that way the AD doesnt have to reach into reserves to pay fines
Posted on 3/21/11 at 4:05 pm to mullenite
and if you put UC's in the stands do you not think thats gonna take away the atmosphere when it comes to drinking because the cops gonna be looking alot harder for the drinkers then the ringers if it came to that
