akanto, that is not what I am saying.

What I am saying is the guy deserves a second chance.

I usually agree with second chances, I do draw the line at felons though. Last I checked he was not a felon so I'm fine with his "second" chance.
I know I've needed a second chance before and am certainly not perfect.

What puzzles me about you wildrebel is you want to give this guy a second chance but you talk about Mustain and describe him in a manner to make him seem evil. Like it is personal for you. He was an 18-19 year old kid, did he not deserve a second chance? Did he deserve to be harrassed and that harrassment later supported by the coaching staff and members of the head coach's family?

If you are going to preach about second chances I would encourage you, for your own sake, to give those same second chances to those you obviously hate.

This may be tough to hear (and believe me, I've had to tell myself to do the same thing) but I think it would be good for you and give you more credibility.

Just my $0.02.

SLC, I didn't say Mustain did not deserve a second chance. You make somewhat of a valid point. BUT, it's still a completely different situation.

I do not think Mustain was evil, but what he was doing to the Hogs maybe even unbeknownst to him at the time was evil. At least according to all accounts I've read and I've read all the slants in Mustain's favor. He will be a better person for his college football experience and Teresa, Danny and whoever else should of had that in mind.

In Jamar's case I think he's probabaly a decent teammate ( and quality SEC player). He or his mother are not out to prove their defensive blitz schemes are the second coming of college football and will use news reporters, messageboards and statewide newspaper editors to suggest otherwise. He made a mistake sort of like Mike Vick made with the dogs. It's bad but he was brought up as a kid not knowing any better. BUT, the bottom line is I think Jamar is the type that will buy in to the coaches and not publicly and privately cause serious problems for him and the health of their program. Nutt has raised some thugs which he had to to survive in this business. And some of them you never would have imagined were so and still have no idea.

Whether you admit it or not, you come across as having an unnatural hate of Mustain and an equally unnatural "love", maybe it's an obsession, with Hootie.

Since this is in sports message board world I think (and hope) you are yanking our chain.

I do not think one single person on a team has as much influence as you imply. It takes the involvement of others to pull that off.

SLC, Mustain is the main reason Nutt is gone. That and the fanbase does not realize their place in the SEC relative to the definition of success. We will never have another coach as successful as Nutt as long as we are in the SEC.
