I think that is right. I think the problem actually is that their new offensive coordinator is featuring a lot of concepts they aren't recruited to execute. It was basically an air raid, jet sweep roster. Now I see them with tight ends trying to run the ball with a guy who isn't a feature guy. I expected more qb running and get the ball out quick air raid concepts this weekend. It was sort of a weird game plan.

The Alabama stats are skewed due to all of the pick sixes.

Yaaaas Rick.

James White isn't going to be an All-SEC back but losing him twice this season has really hurt us.
Not saying that it would have been the difference in the Bama game, but definitely effects the product on the field.

Our defense held them to 20 points.
so LSU gets knocked for allowing special teams TDs and a 10 yard drive....ok

Question so I don't have to start a new thread about it:
Do you non-aggys feel that the defense played better from the 2nd quarter on?
I'm not talking LSU-Bama quality, but they did look physical enough to hang in the SEC to me.
We had good pressure up front (the injury to Bama's center helped), and our safety and CB play looked improved. I won't mention the LBs because for some parts of the game I'm pretty sure they weren't on the field.

The adjustment Chavis made was to completely sell out the defense in order to stop the run. He went Bears 46 defense and dared Alabama to throw the ball. It was the right adjustment - Kiffin tried, but unfortunately Alabama doesn't have a QB or WR who could take advantage of the abysmal DB's that TexA&M lines up.
Fortunately for Alabama though - even with Chavis committing everyone to stop the run, and with a backup C playing the role of turnstile, they were able to run enough to eat clock and shorten the game.
I'm not sure how anyone could look at Texas A&M year long troubles against the run and think because Chavis committed 9 to the box against Alabama that they turned around anything after the first quarter.
Aggie defense is still tissue paper soft against the run - I suggest you start praying now that Fournette has mercy on the Aggie defender's souls.

No how do none of you realize that Kelly went down and thats the only reason your d got any pressure or stopped the run sorta.

Lol...ole miss is giving up over 30 points a game in conference play. A&m has one of the worst run defenses in the conference. I actually feel sorry for a&m when they come to br with that run d. There is a reason a team with no ol and no running game and a suspect qb and a defense giving up over 30 points a game in conference is a 6 point favorite over you.

So Texas A&M has the best 3rd down defense
Ok
Ok

They didn't run the ball every play (why? I have no idea).
For someone who complains about cherry picking arguments, I feel you are doing this here.

The problem was our QB threw 3 TD's to Bama Defensive Backs. That's important because a defense usually gets worse as the game goes on in a physical matchup but A&M got better.
3 pick sixes means your defense got three possessions off. your defense was barely on the field in the first half, so they should have been pretty fresh in the second half

That's a fair assessment, but hopefully at this level 3 possessions doesn't make that much of a difference. If it does, that's a bad sign for our team. Great point though.

Cherry picking what?
If the center doesnt go down its a 52-23 type game.
Chavis didnt adjust nor did the D play better its simple

Do Aggies really think when the game was 27-6 that they "shut down" Bama.
Looked to me like they just went through the motions ready to walk out with the W.
I keep hearing this narrative from Aggies today....we shut them down in 2nd half.....well no shite they were sleep walking.

I disagree because I feel like we tackled better in open space, defended the pass better, and were a lot better fundamentally after the 1st quarter.
I get where you are coming from because the injury definitely played it's part, but I don't think that's the ONLY factor in our defense's play.
