If you just remove the by that Alabama and LSU get right before that game every year, that takes away 14

Again, this is just very basic data. You can dive much deeper to provide more context, account for OOC byes, instances where both teams were on bye, byes before cupcakes (Auburn bye before Mercer, then play Bama this year), etc.

No matter how you slice it, Bama, and to a lesser extent LSU, are getting shafted.

Yeah I'm curious to see the data if you remove when both teams are coming off the bye going into the same game. OP, do you have the data for that? To show only the times when one team is coming off the bye and the other isn't?

I do not. I threw this together by hand in about 30min by looking at the helmet schedules over the past 15 seasons. It's a pretty junior high level job, but it's something to look at. You'll need to get someone with way more time and Excel skills to do that, I've got a sick toddler in my lap for the rest of the afternoon

My 2 year old and myself just got over a nasty bug that I'm pretty sure he got from a kid at his daycare. Today's my first day back at the office after WFH the last 3 days. Hope they get over it soon buddy and will be recovered by Christmas
