The football has always had to pass inbounds either touching the pylon or pass inbounds above the pylon. The rule is the same in pee wee, high school, college and the NFL and has been the rule for as long as I started watching football some 30 years ago. I thought Dyer was short by a few inches on the 4th down as well but that's just part of football. If I wanted I could also argue that the celebration penalty that gave State the ball on the 43 was bullshite as well and clearly gave them a way back into the game. Officials aren't perfect and they are going to make mistakes. We benefited from one and State benefited from a smaller one. That's football. Get the frick over it or quit watching.
